Growth Marketing Manager / Marketing Lead
About SortScape
SortScape is a rapidly growing, product-led SaaS company serving lawn mowing, gardening, and outdoor maintenance businesses across the globe.
Our software helps operators manage their customers, schedules, teams, quotes, invoices, and day-to-day operations in one place.
We already have many of the ingredients for continued growth: an excellent product, a highly engaged customer base, successful advertising campaigns, and a growing community around the brand.
We're looking for someone who can identify growth opportunities, uncover great customer stories, and turn them into content, campaigns, and marketing systems that help more businesses discover SortScape.
How we work
We are a remote team spread across the east coast of Australia.
This role could be part-time or full-time depending on the candidate. We're more focused on finding the right person than fitting them into a predetermined number of days.
We value ownership, initiative, and good judgement. You'll be expected to manage your own backlog, work with your manager to prioritise opportunities, and take responsibility for outcomes.
The founders are highly involved in the business and will happily provide ideas, context, and feedback. However, we're looking for someone who can form their own opinions, explain their reasoning, and make decisions without needing constant direction.
We have a strong "ship it" culture. We'd rather launch ten good ideas and learn from the results than spend months trying to perfect one.
Our approach is simple: test ideas, measure results, keep what works, and build repeatable systems around successful activities.
The role
You'll spend your time understanding customers, creating content, launching campaigns, analysing results, and improving what is already working.
You'll be expected to own outcomes, not just activities.
A big part of the role will involve uncovering customer success stories and turning them into videos, testimonials, case studies, ads, newsletters, and website content.
This is a hands-on role. We're looking for someone who can spot opportunities, execute quickly, learn from the results, and build repeatable systems around what works.
What you'll be doing
- Interviewing customers and uncovering compelling success stories
- Turning customer stories into videos, testimonials, case studies, ads, newsletters, and website content
- Creating new ad concepts, hooks, messaging angles, and campaigns
- Working alongside our existing paid advertising efforts to improve creative performance
- Producing short-form video content
- Improving website messaging, landing pages, and conversion flows
- Tracking results and making decisions based on evidence
- Using AI and automation to increase output and build repeatable systems
AI, automation, and systems
We expect AI tools, automation, and modern workflows to be a normal part of how you work.
We are looking for someone who uses AI as a force multiplier, not a substitute for thinking.
The goal is not to generate more content for the sake of it. The goal is to use modern tools to move faster, test more ideas, maintain quality, and scale successful activities.
What we're looking for
- Experience in growth, content, performance, or SaaS marketing
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Good marketing judgement
- Comfortable working independently
- Curious about customers and what motivates them
- Able to think strategically while remaining hands-on
- Comfortable shipping work quickly and iterating based on feedback
- Interested in what actually drives growth rather than vanity metrics
- Comfortable using AI tools and automation as part of your workflow
- Experience marketing to trades, home services, or small business owners would be a bonus
What would not be a good fit
This probably isn't the right role if:
- You mainly want to manage social media accounts
- You are looking for a specialist Meta/Facebook Ads role
- You prefer coordinating agencies rather than creating and shipping work yourself
- You need a large team around you to get things done
- You prefer lengthy planning cycles before launching anything
- You are uncomfortable working independently
- You are resistant to AI tools, automation, or experimentation
- You want a management role more than a hands-on role

Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience and the value you can bring to the role.

How to apply
Send us a short note explaining:
- Your relevant experience
- Why you think you'd be a good fit for SortScape
- Examples of campaigns, content, ads, or growth initiatives you've worked on
- Examples of how you've used AI, automation, or systems to increase your impact
We're much more interested in what you've actually built, tested, and shipped than polished resumes or marketing jargon.
