Route optimisation

Stop criss-crossing town between mowing jobs.

Every unnecessary kilometre is unpaid time and fuel. SortScape calculates the fastest route through each day's visits with one click, so your crew spends the day on lawns instead of in traffic.

Included on every SortScape plan.

Plan the day's driving in one click.

Route optimisation lives inside the schedule, so the optimised order is the order your crew actually works.

One-click route optimisation

Open the map view for any job run and click Optimise Route. SortScape reorders the day's visits into the quickest route so you stop criss-crossing town.

Smart ETAs for every visit

Enter your start time and SortScape calculates an estimated arrival and finish time for each visit, plus when you will be done for the day.

Start and end anywhere

Set your start and end address, whether that is home, the depot, or the tip, and the route is optimised around your real day.

See the whole run on a map

Every visit on the run plotted together, so you can sanity-check the day at a glance before the crew rolls out.

Turn-by-turn directions

One tap opens directions to the next property with the address already loaded. No copying and pasting between apps.

Up to 150 stops per run

Optimise runs of up to 25 stops on the Basic plan and up to 150 stops on Premium. Plenty of headroom for big mowing days.

Why it matters

Less windscreen time means more billable hours.

Say your crew does 12 visits a day and poor ordering adds 3 minutes of driving between each one. That is over half an hour of dead time every day, and around 3 wasted hours a week per crew. Route optimisation claws that time back automatically.

SortScape customers have saved more than 10,000 hours of driving so far. Fuel bills shrink too, which matters when you are running utes and trailers all day.

How it works:

  1. 1

Open the map view on any job run.

  2. 2

Set your start time and your start and end address.

  3. 3

Click Optimise Route and review the new order and ETAs.

  4. 4

Your crew follows the run in the app, with directions to each visit.

Optimise the round you already scheduled.

Route optimisation works hand in hand with repeating visit scheduling. Once the day is ordered, crews track their time on site and completed visits flow straight into invoicing. Want to see what a tighter route is worth? Price a job with the free lawn mowing calculator.

Route optimisation FAQs

What does route optimisation actually do? +
It reorders the visits within a job run to minimise travel time. Open the map view for a run, set your start time and your start and end address, then click Optimise Route. SortScape sequences the visits into the quickest route for the day.
How many stops can I optimise in one run? +
Up to 25 stops per run on the Basic plan and up to 150 stops per run on the Premium plan.
Does SortScape show estimated arrival times? +
Yes. Smart ETAs show an estimated arrival and finish time for each visit on the run, based on your start time, the driving between properties, and the expected time on site. They appear in the route optimisation map view.
Do I need a separate route planner app? +
No. Route optimisation is built into the schedule, so the optimised order is the order your crew sees in the app. You can also get turn-by-turn directions to the next visit from inside SortScape.
How much time does route optimisation save? +
It depends on how scattered your round is, but SortScape customers have saved over 10,000 hours of driving so far. Even trimming 20 minutes of driving a day adds up to roughly two working weeks a year.
Can I still change the order manually? +
Yes. Optimisation is a suggestion, not a straitjacket. You can drag visits into whatever order you like afterwards, for example when a customer needs a morning slot.
