Does SortScape have a mobile app?
Last updated:
Absolutely! Whether you and your crew are using an iPhone or an Android phone, we’ve got you covered. Our iOS app can be found on the App Store, and for Android users, we’re available on the Google Play Store.
Phone and tablet requirements
Section titled “Phone and tablet requirements”Being able to download the app from the App Store or Play Store is the first check, but it does not guarantee a good experience on every device.
As a general rule, phones older than about five years may not work well with SortScape. Newer phones keep getting faster processors, more memory, and better built-in browsers. SortScape is built to take advantage of those capabilities so the schedule, maps, photos, and messaging stay smooth for crews in the field. Supporting very old hardware at the same time makes it hard to use those improvements without slowing everyone else down.
There is also a security reason to avoid old phones for work. Most manufacturers only provide security updates for about four to five years after a phone is released. Once those updates stop, the phone is no longer a safe choice for professional use, even if it still turns on and can open apps.
Practical guidance
Section titled “Practical guidance”- Prefer phones released within the last five years, with current OS updates installed.
- If the App Store or Play Store will not let you install SortScape, that device is not supported.
- If the app installs but stays blank, loads very slowly, or keeps failing after normal troubleshooting, the phone is likely too old or underpowered. Try a newer device.
