SMS opt-out and resubscribe

Last updated:

Customers can stop or restart SMS messages by replying with simple keywords.

SortScape automatically applies these requests and sends a short confirmation so they know it worked.

This ensures customers can control their messages and helps keep SMS delivery reliable.

Customers can reply with any of the following:

  • STOP, END, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE
  • Natural phrases such as stop texting me

When a customer opts out:

  • The number is unsubscribed
  • You cannot send SMS to them anymore
  • They receive a one-time confirmation (see below) — this message does not use any of your SMS text message credits
